Author’s Note – July 4, 2025
Here it is—the 4th of July, 2025. Our nation’s anniversary,
or birthday, depending on how you frame it. I guess I
should be happy and excited. But I’m not. I’m uneasy.
Anxious. Nervous. Maybe this is how Francis Scott Key felt
watching the bombardment of Fort McHenry, wondering
whether the flag would still be there at dawn.
As I assembled the information for these books, I found myself
pushing back waves of revulsion and outright despair. What began
as an attempt to hold a few public figures accountable quickly snowballed into a grotesque parade: self-serving, self-righteous, self-indulgent sociopaths—pompous, cruel, arrogant, ignorant, and often dangerously unqualified.
I thought I was politically aware. Turns out, I was just scratching the surface. To stay truly informed in America today, you’d need a full-time team with a war room and a bottomless coffee supply. The level of cowardice, corruption, and callous indifference among those in power is beyond anything I imagined. And yet here we are—in a moment of national peril, where the most malicious voices hold the loudest microphones.
As I finalize volume one in July and August 2025, the assault on democracy is not a metaphor—it’s an ongoing siege. Devastating legislation is being passed. Lives are being lost—not just from natural disasters, but from the catastrophic consequences of deliberate neglect and gutted agencies like FEMA, USAID, and NOAA. People are being snatched off the street by masked vigilantes and held without explanation or due process.
Basic facts are now treated like optional accessories rather than the foundation of truth.
Could an entire book be written about each of these people? Absolutely. The depth of grift, ignorance, cruelty, and spitefulness is staggering. But this isn’t an encyclopedia. It’s a warning shot. I’ve focused here on the loudest, most visible, and most destructively influential figures in this moment. I plan to muster the time, energy, and stomach for future volumes—ones that expose the lesser-known rogues infecting statehouses, school boards, and so-called “think tanks” across the country.
Every chapter in these books stands on its own. There’s no need to read them in order.
This isn’t a Jack Reacher novel. The books don't aim for seamless polish, consistent fonts, or fluid page design. It’s meant to be a punch in the face—a jolt of outrageous, appalling information that refuses to be ignored.
Each chapter is a standalone reckoning. While the structure is mostly consistent, the depravity varies. So yes, there are subtle differences in form. But the thread remains constant: These people are dangerous, dishonest, and unworthy of public trust.
One thing struck me over and over while writing: how revealing their own words are.
They open a very wide, very clear window into their character—or lack thereof.
Want to know who these people really are? What they believe? Don’t take my word for it. Just read what they’ve said—out loud, on the record, with no shame and zero consequences. It’s Stephen King meets Edgar Allan Poe—except they each have a copy of Mein Kampf jammed in their back pocket.
And yes, some of the people profiled here may be gone by the time you read this—fired, demoted, replaced, or thrown under the MAGA bus by the lieber Anführer himself. Others will have slithered into new jobs where they can strut their delusions of grandeur and leave fresh boot prints on the Constitution. Regardless, you need to know who they are—so you can keep your eyes peeled, your wallet closed, your voter registration current, and a protective eye on your non-white friends and neighbors. And even if the lieber Anführer keels over from an overabundance of McDonald’s burgers and fries, we’ll still be stuck with the rest of the reprobates.
The people in these pages remind me of a tangled mass of venomous snakes at the bottom of a musty cave—slithering in the dark, hidden from view, ready to poison the unsuspecting. And of course, they’ll devour each other if it means getting to the defenseless mouse in the corner.
As James Lee Burke once wrote:
“Have you ever met a sociopath who didn’t believe they were of cosmic importance?”
What follows (at the bottom of the page) are just a few quotes—actual words—from the people profiled in this book. Read them. Then read the ones in each chapter. Tell me this isn’t a horror story.
Buckle up.
And don’t forget the satirical poetic take-owns at the end of each chapter. A little gallows humor helps get through the day. It does for me, anyway. And the final, epic poetic take- down of all the miscreants in each book, "The Craven, will have you thinking Edgar Allen Poe was a lightweight.
I didn’t set out to write a horror anthology.
But that’s what this became: a political haunted house.
A rogues’ gallery of liars, grifters, and thugs.
Some are buffoons. Some are terrifying. Many are both.
There’s a reason the books are called See Ya – Wouldn’t Want to Be Ya.
It’s not just a childhood taunt. It’s a public service announcement.
So here it is: the roll call of wreckage.
Read it. Share it. Vote accordingly. And stay angry.
If you want to keep up with the latest madness, visit my blog. I post updated stories and context that couldn’t make it into these pages—because the assault on democracy is moving far faster than it can be chronicled.
There is hope......
From Gandhi:
“You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is like an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.”
From the Tao Te Ching, Verse 60:
“If only the ruler and his people would
refrain from harming each other,
all the benefits of life would accumulate
in the kingdom.”
Here are some quotes from some of the grifters profiled in the books. Who said what? Ya gotta read the books to find out.
